There's an air of prefab provocation about the whole thing, and viewers should know that the director has a penchant for squirm-inducing images, not all of them strictly necessary. Go to Full Review

Moonlight is a disturbing and daring thriller with an exceptional performance by 13-year-old Laurien Van den Broeck. Go to Full Review

A wild dream that spins into a nightmare, Moonlight isn't quite as provocative as it aims to be. Go to Full Review

12/29/2013 Good narrative, good thriller. The story was so dark. The kid actress & actor were excellent. See more 09/06/2012 the first deutsch movie i've ever seen. i thought this movie was... 'a little bit' wonderful, and i liked it. see this, if you interesting to it. See more 01/20/2010 the first deutsch movie i've ever seen. i thought this movie was... The nice cinematography never had a chance of redeeming itself. The character motivations were erratically misplaced, the antagonist was an intelligent appearing psychopathic idiot, the girl was humiliated and made to look stupid, every scene was unoriginal, and the music was so poor that right off the bat I wondered if in fact I'd put in a lousy movie (I sort of did) . The girl gave a fine performance, but I feel really sorry that she had to act in this. Basically it was a 2002 pre-bi misfit girl running around the woods/city with an uneducated Afghan boy who were both taking coke as a pick-me-up. At the same time evading a persistent and dumb lucky suited lowlife who needed to kill them to retrieve the rest of his coke. This was not an insightful look at drug-runners, nor a study of the pre-teen psyche. It was not a thrilling piece, nor a sexual deliberation. It did have (cliched) bits of everything, but like other such movies, it just wasn't that good. See more 06/22/2009 This was a great film though different kind of film where you don't see this type everyday. It was an interesting wondering how a young school girl keep up looking after this Afghan boy carrying drugs when other things happen offguard. Acting was very good also music was well composed, ending was unpredictable and blew my mind.
