Alain E @AlainE Jun 21, 2026 Very successful action drama concerning terrorists attacking the US Ambassador’s residence in London. I found the story much more plausible than most Bond movies. There is good build up until the final confrontation. Well filmed. See more Derek C @aquickone May 19, 2026 If you love taut British thrillers, believe in practical filmmaking, or have any curiosity about what the SAS actually are, Who Dares Wins is essential viewing. It's a film of its time — but it holds up in all the ways that matter. Seek it out. See more Alistair B @RT17327201 Aug 13, 2023 This isn't a Bad British Flick forget about this being Right Wing Propaganda by Critics at the time it's just Fictional entertainment that's all.The Late Lewis Collins of The Professionals British TV Action Show was seriously being considered for The James Bond Part in The Early 1980's.I think Collins playing an SAS Soldier in Who Dares Wins was a possible warm up to him playing James Bond. One thing is certain Roger Moore who I liked in The Saint & The Persuaders TV Shows should've quit The Part after The Spy Who Loved Me he was way too Old looking to play 007.I think that Collins would've done okay in The Part like Timothy Dalton & Daniel Craig it would've energized The Film Franchise again.I found it interesting that Edward Woodward who played a Spy in The acclaimed Spy TV Series Callan a Decade or so before is also in this Film in a secondary Role in a George Cowley type Part. This needed to be chopped down by a half hour at least. Because the last 20 minutes is fantastic all around. Great action, great score, even great politics, but to have to slog through an hour and 40 minutes to get there... See more Dec 11, 2017 They rushed this film out and it shows. The seduction sequence and the rock concert are genuinely funny without wishing to be. Nice action piece at the end saves it from Razzie status. See more Read all reviews
