Ashequl I @Tofa13 Jul 29 The Siege (1998) is a wildly inconsistent conspiracy thriller that manages to be eerily prophetic about post-9/11 security debates while failing as a cohesive cinematic story. Directed by Edward Zwick, the film suffers from a messy, unfocused screenplay that tries to balance too many subplots, rendering its narrative twists flat and predictable. While Denzel Washington delivers a strong, committed performance as an FBI agent fighting for the rule of law, his co-stars fall flat. Bruce Willis feels miscast as a rigid military general, and Annette Bening turns in an unusually weak performance as a CIA operative whose character choices and climax lack emotional resonance. Aside from a few compelling moments, it remains a mediocre watch. See more Ian R @RT23899272 Jan 12 This film contained a typical Denzel Washington performance, which I found to be lazy. The premise is overly exaggerated and isn't enough to maintain the plot. I think the movie has become outdated (even at the time of release) with the end of the cold war. Consequently, it is a bit sanctimonious.
