The story is tight, suspense builds well, and the final heist is smartly executed. Marlon Brando, in one of his last roles, is basically playing himself but still brings presence, and Angela Bassett adds solid support. Simple, smart, and very effective. See more Jacob B @RT89309114 Jul 23, 2025 While having the misfortune of being released the same year as the more iconic Ocean's Eleven and having a few pacing problems, The Score is still an enjoyable heist film in its own right. Edward Norton does a hell of a job keeping up with the two Vito Corleones, Frank Oz does a good job directing the film and once we get to the actual heist, it's a suspenseful sequence that doesn't affect my willing suspension of disbelief like similar films which rely a bit too heavily on NOTHING going wrong. It's not a masterpiece and doesn't focus as much as one might think on the novelty of Robert de Niro and Marlon Brando being in the same movie together but it's still worth a watch to see how Yoda himself tackles this genre.
