If there's anything worse than a film with no point, it's one that's all point and nothing but. Go to Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) Feb 23, 2015
Instead of heartwarming messages about forgiveness, it honours ambiguity and brings us close, closer than is comfortable, in fact, to what Americans today are really thinking about one another. Go to Full Review Stanley Kauffmann The New Republic Feb 23, 2015
[Crash] is familiar enough that it slips easily into our film-watching faculty without any fuss, yet [Haggis'] handling of it -- his muscular belief in what he is doing -- makes us hope that his next screenplay will be a bit less safe. Go to Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Mar 2, 2025
2.5/4
The weakest of all five Best Picture Oscar nominees (not just Brokeback Mountain) for 2005, it's still a relevant movie that would have been even better had Haggis eased up on the gas every once in a while. Go to Full Review Mark Johnson Awards Daily Jun 27, 2023
Crash is a bit too on the nose as it addresses racial tensions without much subtlety. The score, cinematography, and acting are all pretty outstanding, but it isn’t enough to save the tone-deaf Crash from feeling extremely contrived and overbearing. Hampered by unrealistic dialogue and unpleasant characters, it delivers its portrayal of a world that needs changing in the most aggressive and obvious way possible. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Jeffrey K @Jeffreyw Sep 24, 2026 An intense movie about racism, hate and empathy. See more Mickey B @Mickerdoo Sep 19, 2026 A collection of some hateful, racist people tripping over each other’s lives. Reminds of the dangers of broad generalization. See more Skyler T @RT83774132 Sep 3, 2026 Snooze fest, this only won the Academy award because they were afraid to give it to a gay film at the time called Broke Back Mountain. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jul 27, 2026 Crash is an intense and emotionally charged film that successfully connects multiple storylines into one powerful narrative. The movie follows several different characters whose lives unexpectedly collide, creating a story filled with conflict, tension, and deeply emotional moments. The biggest strength of the film is its incredible ensemble cast, with each actor bringing depth and realism to their role. Sandra Bullock delivers another memorable performance, and I truly am infatuated with Sandra Bullock and everything she’s in. She continues to prove why she is such a captivating actress. The screenplay does an excellent job developing each character while showing how their choices and experiences impact one another. The direction keeps the audience fully engaged, balancing multiple perspectives without losing focus. While Crash is not necessarily a film I would revisit often because of its heavy themes, it is still a powerful cinematic experience that leaves an impression. See more Liam P @Monostate Jul 23, 2026 One of the best movies ever made. See more Alexander K @RT68447975 Jul 18, 2026 I just don’t understand why everyone criticized this movie. Personally I found incredible and impredecible from the first I saw it. See more Read all reviews
