To begin with, I don't know the story of "Casanova," this is the first time I'm watching this film, so I can't criticize the plot. It is entertaining enough through the first 80 minutes that those inaccuracies and even the questionable decision making by Oliver Platt's character - plots shouldn't hinge on people making decisions that are at odds with what little we know about them - can be forgiven. The final 20 minutes see the movie go completely off the rails. The first 80% is worth watching as it features Heath Ledger, some fun dialogue, and has Venice as a backdrop.
