See more Tyler S @tylerking24 Sep 1, 2026 Wasn't really the biggest fan of the OG animation, and this one didn't work either. Once I realized how far off this was from a remake, I knew pretty early what my score was. See more David W @RT98524078 Aug 14, 2026 The story we were shown...seemingly the only kind of story we know how to tell...was utterly familiar. It was one of war. There are, of course, strong intimations of violence in the original Wonderland tales. Wonderland is a place where things are not as they seem, and it's not without its dangers. But not nearly enough for our blood-hungry palates. Here, swords and revenge and war drums and noble heroes with vorpal swords bringing justice are front and center. If there is not conflict, not battle, no witty quips uttered as a blade brings an end to a foe, well, honestly, we'd be bored witless. We want to see the Mad Hatter pouring out hot cups of whupass. We want Alice the Warrior. It's the Alice we want to see, so that's the Alice we get. I suppose, given our culture, I should be grateful she didn't slay the Jabberwock whilst wearing booty shorts and a tube top. Maybe in the sequel. See more Calvin W @RT73854330 Aug 9, 2026 Watching this movie is one of the most jarring, disappointing, and boring experiences of my life. The original story has such a powerful theme of children/younger people disregarding common life advice and getting caught up in a situation far more drastic and dangerous than they ever could have understood. The part where Alice cried about not knowing how to get out is such a relatable moment to many who have experienced something similar. This story has nothing to do with that story. The creators of this movie took the liberty of changing the entire theme, manufactured a truckload of unnecessary lore, added fighting (even a battle with armies), and looked horrible while doing it. The CGI is constant and distracting. The writing is clunky and awkward. Why is Alice swinging a sword? What movie is this? See more Read all reviews
