coyote T @trextomatoe 5 hrs ago In love with this movie. My gahhhh. See more MC R @RT91491190 Aug 6, 2026 I don't know why, but I wanted to rewatch this. Because it's a long time ago and I was curious. Because I wanted to know ho funny this movie was. So I did watch it again and can say, it has definitely has it's funny moments. Seth Rogen got a double roll and he did a good job. After seeing The Invite I have to say that Seth Rogen deserves more credit about his acting skills than people give him credit for. Funny to see Sarah Snook here, I know her mostly as Shiv from Succesion. Like I said! Movie has funny moments and a great premise. But the movie can't hold the momentum and fell flat, the end was sweet though. Still a fun movie See more Gordon M @gordumb Jul 15, 2026 The illusion of having Seth Rogan play 2 characters is not well executed. It distracts and hurts the performance. The humor and wholesome moments just make me wonder who the target audience is. See more M M @Mistmist Jun 24, 2026 Should be banned for hate speach! See more Marco L @decatur555 Jun 23, 2026 An American Pickle is a silly but enjoyable comedy with a strange premise, some real tenderness and a bit of bite. Seth Rogen plays both Herschel, an old-world immigrant preserved in pickle brine for a hundred years, and Ben, his lonely modern great-grandson. The best parts come from the clash between those two worlds: tradition and modernity, family roots and individual emptiness, old prejudices and contemporary sensitivities. The film is not always consistent, and it sometimes struggles to decide whether it wants to be sharp satire, sentimental family comedy or absurd fable. Still, Rogen carries it well, and there are enough funny little moments to make it pleasant. It is not memorable, but it is odd, entertaining and warmer than expected. See more David J G @RT89083761 May 23, 2026 The premise that a man can be pickled for 100 years and come to life is ridiculous but amusing; the preposterous progress of the main character is also ridiculous but somewhat entertaining. Good cinematography, the acting good enough; it all adds up to a silly, so-so film. See more Read all reviews
