It feels both familiar and uncanny. The globe-shaped domes that cover the houses in the 2075 world seem both creepy and somehow smart. For all of its design savvy, the movie’s biggest strength might be its tender heart. Go to Full Review

One of those old-fashioned feature cartoons that seems aimed at pleasing half-asleep old people rather than lively youngsters. Go to Full Review

A sweet, immersive glimpse at two of our futures, and it’s clear-eyed about which aspects of those worlds we want to avoid, and which ones we have to pursue. Go to Full Review

Somewhere between Miyazaki and Robert Zemeckis, Ugo Bienvenu transforms a delicate interplay of light and hope into a countercultural fable about the future. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Ian W. @iwaldman 17h Nominated for Best Animated Feature, Arco is in fact one of the best animated films of the last year. It’s wonderfully creative, telling a touching story of friendship with a more old school style of animation. Not only does it tell a very good story, it also depicts two super intriguing futures and subtly builds on the lore of those realities while the story unfolds. This made it easy to be sucked in and immersed into this sci-fi world. It may seem very simple, but I always love when a film combines a good story with a unique backdrop. This film is equal parts lighthearted as it is emotional. The ending doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it still hit an emotional chord for me. It was effectively implemented and well earned. Although the film is set in the distant future, it also manages to incorporate real-world issues that are relevant today, and that added yet another layer to this film. The film is in theaters soon, I highly recommend seeing it! See more aniston j @atontides 1d pretty good i like the color See more Octoper 1d Arco was pretty nice See more alan g @agenser 3d Cheap rip off of Japanese anime. Any movie with Will Ferret, even his voice, is terrible. He makes a mockery of everything. They must have some big dirt on Ferrara and Portman for they to be involved in this trash. See more Davetheman 5d Definitely the magical movie I ever seen See more Moody C @MoodyC 5d Story too simplistic though I’m still not sure who those enemies dudes with glasses are. While old school 2D animation is nice, there are better with more compelling storylines from Japan. See more Read all reviews
