At 140 minutes, there are shootings, betrayals and rescues, but surprisingly little urgency.

Hashmi keeps it all humming, and till Awarapan sails along... It’s a pity that the film falls into a repetitive dull third act, which makes us nearly forget the competent genre beats of the rest.

Awarapan 2 runs for 140 minutes and it never finds the grip or emotion of the first film. But Emraan rises above the bumps.

Awarapan 2 may give Emraan Hashmi the massy comeback his fans have been waiting for, but nostalgia can only do so much.

The story was good, but the director messed it up with the screenplay. What a bad screenplay it was. This movie could have been 100 minutes, but the extra 30 minutes just messed it up. The acting was also poor. Except for Hashmi, everyone’s performance was underwhelming. And my God, the action scenes were just bad. I think some scenes were done in one take, so that’s why those scenes felt so bad. The positive point has to be the music. The music of the movie just saved it from being a bad movie and turned it into an okayish watch. Some emotional scenes work too. Overall, it’s a disappointing sequel that just tries to use the nostalgia factor.
