Critics Consensus

It may offer energetic escapism for less demanding filmgoers, but Battleship is too loud, poorly written, and formulaic to justify its expense -- and a lot less fun than its source material.

Once the special effects take over, Berg has little room to assert his personality (or tell a story, for that matter), and the movie feels like a chore.

Riggins and Landry in the Navy, Peter Berg Does Michael Bay, Transformers-esque, Not Really Battleship; any of those titles are just as fitting if not more so than Battleship.

Battleship is substantially less awful than it could have been. And for me, that may have been the biggest disappointment of all.

A derivative, nonsensical sci-fi project best described by comparing it to better movies.

Some people will tell you that Battleship is a bad film. And they will be right. But it is still a better film than a lot of other action and effects-dominated movies out there. Especially ones based on toy franchises.

Underneath the bombastic veneer of grinding metal, explosions, and destruction lies a corny and often times ridiculous story that can’t be saved by the fancy coat of CGI paint.

Es simplemente interesante y magnífica, algo que cambia los típicos ET por una civilización avanzada, insisto en una secuela, batalla naval es una buena apuesta al futuro y quiero ver a Rihanna de vuelta a la acción..

I thought it was a great show, seen it twice at no cost, now it's silly they want to charge people to watch such an old show, and a plenty of other shows that I have seen for free, now they are charging for them crazy.

Went to it at the theater when it was out with 3 buddies. It was pretty full and everyone loved it, great action 🎬 packed thriller. It should be in the 90's for PopcornMeter. Must have been a boatload of liberal or gay bots.
