Lisa Feb 3, 2025 Very moving story and brilliantly acted, especially Liz Tabish in the role of Violetta. See more Lucy Grace Jan 31, 2025 "Between Borders" moved me deeply. The characters were relatable and the story was compelling. The true story of the Petrosyan family's experiences as ethnic Armenians facing terrible prejudice and the constant threat of physical and emotional abuse in both Azerbaidjan and Russia was at times heart-wrenching and echoes the plight of so many in similar situations around the world. The back and forth between the U.S. courtroom where the Petrosyans' petition for asylum was being adjudicated and the actual events leading up to the hearing was handled well. When the judge recited Emma Lazarus's "A New Colossus" that's inscribed at the base of the Statue of Liberty, there wasn't a dry eye in the theater. The anti-immigrant movement in the U.S. has never been more virulent and this movie is an important reminder of what this country is supposed to stand for. See more Angie Jan 29, 2025 Such a heart felt movie with real life issues we forget people actually face and have faced. See more Virginia Jan 29, 2025 Awesome movie!! Its a shame it was only available for a few days. See more Jean Jan 29, 2025 Oh my! This movie was right on, and I wish everyone could see it - especially in today's climate. I work with refugees and asylum seekers, and this is their story. That these people can even move on is remarkable, but they do - somehow. Feeling accepted and loved makes all the difference. We have just have no idea. See more Read all reviews
