Tired of the crime overrunning the streets of Boston, Irish Catholic twin brothers Conner (Sean Patrick Flanery) and Murphy (Norman Reedus) are inspired by their faith to cleanse their hometown of evil with their own brand of zealous vigilante justice. As they hunt down and kill one notorious gangster after another, they become controversial folk heroes in the community. Satire or self-parody would be vastly preferable to the film's unironic endorsement of outlaw justice, but you'd be hard pressed to find anything resembling irony or subversiveness in this exercise in lovingly rendered ultra-violence.

Unjustifiably a "cult classic", really just a watered down Tarantino rip-off. There is no moral relativism for the viewer to hold own to, just absurdly juvenile violent set pieces. Willem Dafoe, apparently given free rein, hams it up unmercifully adding to the schlock. Skip it.

This movie was not bad, but it was also not totally unwatchable. Some things about it was good but some stuff was also not so good. The acting sucked but the action was good. The cinematography sucked but the screenplay writing was not bad and some of the jokes made me laugh and so on. This movie is not necessarily average, but I can’t give it anything other than a 5/10 because the dumb stuff cancelled out the good stuff. It could’ve been higher if it was more realistic but the whole detective stuff was just SO stupid and SO inaccurate. 5/10
