Luminita L @RT78486684 14h When I began watching the movie, I had no idea what the story was about. Then, hearing the word polio, I was suddenly reminded of my uncle, who suffered from the disease. He contracted the virus while serving on the Russian front during WWII. He was a resilient fighter; he spent nearly 35 years confined to bed, unable to leave his room. The movie Breath is extraordinary because it honestly depicts the good, the bad, and the ugly moments a family endures after an unexpected crisis. They experience a brief glimpse of happiness before an unforeseen tragedy strikes. Yet, what one man endured became the inspiration for an idea that has helped thousands of others facing similar struggles, improving countless lives. Many people are unaware of the consequences of these devastating diseases. I deeply admire the actors' performances and the director's compassionate vision in this film. Liked the story and movie See more isla s @RT89656869 09/01/2022 I thought this was a brilliant film - a sad story, hard to watch in parts but ultimately a story of humanity, of hope in disability and, perhaps slightly more cheesily, a story of love and family. Its an interesting and in some ways uplifting story and the performances were really good, especially Andrew Garfield, Tom Hollander and Stephen Mangan. Its based on a true story and this made the film all the more interesting to me. I found it intriguing and I respect the Cavendish family for how they coped with what they faced. It made me wonder about the future in terms of technical abilities to help the severley disabled. This is a film definitely worth seeing - the story seemed well handled, its a thought provoking watch with some great performances, so I recommend it. See more Read all reviews
