Peter W @RT12077588 21 hrs ago Cashback is a sweet story about a man searching for love, grappling with key questions surrounding the subject, and learning to understand human emotions. The film’s opening is heartfelt, unexpected, and surprisingly deep, thanks to the unfiltered narration from its lead. Visually, the film is highly artistic, featuring numerous striking shots that left me impressed by the filmmaker’s creativity. There are also several strong gags throughout, with random lines of dialogue that are genuinely welcome and balance well against the film’s dramatic elements. However, while the opening is confident and engaging, the finale and overall resolution feel far safer than the film’s earlier journey. Unfortunately, the sexual humour often goes too far and becomes unfunny. The film also struggles at times to settle on a consistent comedic tone, wavering between crude jokes and light-hearted comedy, which occasionally undermines its impact. It has deep feeling, fantastic humour and characters and I love it. See more PJ M @RT62984224 Jun 8, 2026 Surprisingly good movie! Unlike the critic's consensus, I thought the protagonist (Ben) was actually likeable and well played. I wouldn't watch this with teenagers due to the nudity but it was an interesting story and engaging. Definitely worth a watch. See more thiago S @Thiagostone Jun 5, 2026 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Ian W. @1point21giggawatts May 26, 2026 Fun film. Well done See more Alain E @AlainE Nov 26, 2025 Very enjoyable. It reminded me of Nicholson Baker’s book Fermata about a different hero who could stop time around him, although not as innocent as this one. Should we need to explain that this is not a documentary? That no human can survive without sleeping for four weeks straight? The whole thing is playful, well constructed and has a satisfactory happy ending. Some good songs as well, plus excerpts from operas. Finally, it does include female nudity which seems to upset people more than killings and mayhem. See more Read all reviews
