After transferring to a Los Angeles high school, Sarah (Robin Tunney) finds that her telekinetic gift appeals to a group of three wannabe witches, who happen to be seeking a fourth member for their rituals. Bonnie (Neve Campbell), Rochelle (Rachel True) and Nancy (Fairuza Balk), like Sarah herself, all have troubled backgrounds, which combined with their nascent powers lead to dangerous consequences. When a minor spell causes a fellow student to lose her hair, the girls grow power-mad.

I cannot stop myself from saying, I sometimes think that I must be seeing a different movie than what others saw. It might not be a perfect movie, but I thought everyone in it was great. I must add, without a doubt, Fairuza Balk made this movie far better and more disturbing with her incredible performance as Nancy Downs. I thought she was incredibly real as someone who has an edge but then slides into madness as the powers of Manon take her over. I guess I could never become a film critic because I see so much in many films that make them better than most critics ever will see. It means nothing about who is right or wrong. We all perceive things in our own way.
