In Bangkok's suburbs, a disturbing video featuring animal cruelty is circulating. It elicits shock and disgust in everyone who sees it. The video punctures the peaceful life of pastor Daniel and his wife May when it’s shown to their 10-year-old daughter, Olivia. After Missy, the kitten she received for her 10th birthday, goes missing, an already traumatized Olivia is kidnapped by Stanley who schemes to sell her into a dark underworld of exploitation. As Daniel and May grapple with their daughter's disappearance, they are thrust into a harrowing journey that reveals the depths of human depravity. With the support of local authorities and their tight-knit community, they navigate a maze of fear, faith and desperation to find Olivia. In a gripping narrative that intertwines themes of trauma, forgiveness, revenge and God, Crushed culminates in a controversial act of vigilante justice that tests the family's moral compass to the core. This raw and unflinching exploration of suffering and redemption will leave a lasting impact on viewers.

The film’s almost new-wave alertness lifts it above lurid payback fodder, but its inquiry into the feasibility of forgiveness wavers. Go to Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film 4 days ago

Crushed says nothing interesting about the cruelty of human nature or the struggle to hold onto one's faith. It's a brutally unnecessary film, and in 2025, it's rather regressive. Go to Full Review Cody Leach Cody Leach (YouTube) Oct 17, 2025

The subject matter as well as the storytelling decisions seem deliberately intended to elicit an angry and sickened response from the viewer. Congratulations on achieving that goal, I guess? This was a miserable watch with no insightful point to merit it. Go to Full Review C.H. Newell Father Son Holy Gore Sep 28, 2025

Rumley depicts a crisis of morality in a corrupted world that moves, as well as pushes people, further and further away from the spiritual. Go to Full Review Read all reviews
