when everything falls into place, as it does for much of The Darjeeling Limited, [Anderson’s] movies give way to something far deeper than film geekery. Go to Full Review

What of the characters? Well, there aren't any, really. Go to Full Review

Wes Anderson transports his arch, pristine, melancholic sensibility to India, where three estranged brothers meet after their father's death and hop a train in a quixotic attempt to heal their spiritual wounds. Go to Full Review

As stylish as any Anderson-directed feature, The Darjeeling Limited is served best by its performances, as well as its touching blend of sadness and humour. Go to Full Review

Far from Anderson's best work, The Darjeeling Limited offers enough dysfunctional family antics and care-free adventure to keep things interesting. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Considering the amounts of dry kooky humor, it may surprise some people to find this much heart. But Anderson has always had a knack for that. Go to Full Review

Ashketh T. @Ashketh 3d The Darjeeling Limited The story was impeccable, the cast was smaller but packed a punch, the emotions in it were so raw and real. The set didn’t “feel” like a set and most of their set wasn’t actually human-built sets unlike most of his other films (I loved Grand Budapest’s sets) and….whenever someone watched The Darjeeling Limited I’ve often heard them say that something changed in them. I suppose in a way - what was challenging and beautiful was that in a chaotic setting like India, which is an incredible beautiful place to visit - his characters and himself are trying to find semblance, stillness and aesthetic symmetry like the rest of his films do. It might not be his best work - but it is his most human work, the most intense in terms of feeling things and coming out of the theater feeling like you’ve let Anderson hold your hand and take you on a beautiful ride. It is stylish and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes as a unique travelogue type of film but fails to capture any real sustenance that it attempts to portray. It would be relieving to have that kind of wealth and travel and make endless mistakes knowing that you can afford your way home one way or another and can just re-buy whatever you lose in the process minus the items that are vintage that they let go in the end. One of my favorite Wes Anderson films See more AliLe Jul 31 When beginning to watch The Darjeeling Limited, one could think that it is just another average old movie, including outdated stereotypes, a boring plot line and acting that is not quite believable. However this is far from the truth. As the viewer continues the journey through India with the three brothers, one notices that a lot of thought has gone into the making of this movie. Every single scene has a purpose in this film. Especially showing how the three main characters evolve and deal with the grief of loosing their father. The thing I enjoyed most was the amount of depth each character had. They weren’t perfect and had their own flaws, but that’s what made them important and even relatable to viewers who are dealing with the loss of someone. I 100% recommend this movie.
