William Brown (Jonah Ray Rodrigues), a neurotic, self-absorbed musician determined to finish his prog-rock magnum opus, faces a creative roadblock in the form of a noisy and grotesque neighbor named Vlad (Alex Winter). Finally working up the nerve to demand that Vlad keep it down, William inadvertently decapitates him. But, while attempting to cover up one murder, William's accidental reign of terror causes victims to pile up and become undead corpses who torment and create more bloody detours on his road to prog-rock Valhalla. DESTROY ALL NEIGHBORS is a twisted splatter-comedy about a deranged journey of self-discovery full of goopy practical FX, a well-known ensemble cast, and LOTS of blood.

Critics Consensus

While it struggles with pacing and an indulgently chaotic narrative, Destroy All Neighbors charms with inventive special effects and infectious cast chemistry.

The only film you’ll see this year with a limbless torso playing drums with animated entrails, this wickedly witty take on the seamy side of creative ambition is well worth a spin.

Those on its wavelength won’t mind the rough edges or underdeveloped themes in this raucous comedy filled with enough moments and character beats to compensate. But the flaws will only become more evident if this type of humor isn’t for you.

Much like wannabe prog-rock musician William Brown’s (Jonah Ray Rodrigues) music, not everyone is going to “get” the juvenile horror-comedy Destroy All Neighbors, but those who do are going to adore the ever-loving heck out of it.

Destroy All Neighbors contains a little bit of everything, which doesn’t make it perfect, but it does make it special.

B-

I give it a B- for its campy nature! And look for all the cameos and friends that make appearances.

Unexpected turns don't mean inconsistencies in tone, and the movie never goes so far off the deep end that viewers can't see how they got there.

Destroy All Neighbors is an absolutely awful film. It was dumb from beginning to end, and I could never fully wrap my mind around what I was watching, what the story was trying to make me believe, or how everything was supposed to transition from one scene to the next. Nothing came together in a way that made sense to me. The acting and screenplay were both rough. Everything felt lost, and the story never seemed to know what direction it wanted to take. The neighbor was making all kinds of noise and causing problems, yet the landlord acted like nothing was happening when the other neighbors tried to explain the situation. I kept thinking, just put the story together and make it make sense. Unfortunately, Destroy All Neighbors is not something I can recommend or see myself watching again. It was too ridiculous for me to become invested, and I spent more time trying to understand what the movie was attempting to do than actually enjoying it. Overall, it was too stupid for my taste.

ive tried to watch this multiple times. it's just not well made, has the aura of an improv project. the prosthetics used are pointlessly garish and i would have enjoyed watching a lot more if i wasnt staring at a very cheap rubber mask for half the movie. im a fan of several cast members, but this movie is very bad. from looking at his filmography, the director doesnt seem to have many scruples.

Ha, what a goofy, macabre movie. Certainly didn't live up to my expectations, but only because I couldn't predict what the hell was going to happen next. Worth checking out if you enjoy a light hearted movie with some gore!

This movie was not for me. It struggles with its characters and story. The special effects I thought would be good, but they were not. The twist at the end of the movie was something you were waiting for since the whole premise. I do not recommend this movie
