Though its narrative themes are all too familiar, Epic is beautifully animated and crafted with just enough flair to make for solid family entertainment.

Produces images of poetic power ... The catch is that the world the filmmakers create is far more interesting than the story they tell in it in it or the characters they put in it. Go to Full Review Bilge Ebiri New York Magazine/Vulture May 27, 2013

Only the very young will draw much from the generic storytelling, while the handsome animation of the natural world is wasted on dull characters and unexciting situations. Go to Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Sep 7, 2020

Paul S @PManRager Sep 30, 2026 While there were a few issues with the story and the characters, I liked this movie way too much to call it anything other than a masterpiece. With beautiful animation, an enchanting story, and plenty of awesome and hilarious moments, this movie is exactly what it's called: epic! I had so much fun watching this movie; I definitely recommend it! See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 12, 2026 Um espetáculo visual deslumbrante que esconde uma narrativa vazia, derivada e aborrecida. O filme recicla de forma genérica o conceito de mundos microscópicos secretos, entregando personagens sem carisma e piadas infantis fáceis que cansam rapidamente. See more Alan T @Alan527 Jun 18, 2026 It was an ok movie. But could've expanded more on all the characters. Everything happened a bit fast. See more Robert F. @RT45442724 Jun 8, 2026 LOVED it!
