Oskar (Thomas Horn), who lost his father (Tom Hanks) in the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, is convinced that his dad left a final message for him somewhere in the city. Upon finding a mysterious key in his father's closet, Oskar sets out in search of the lock it fits. Another case where the critics and I must have been watching a different film. Enjoyed this film very much and recommend for anyone who has an emotional range. A real shame the reviews aren’t more positive so more people would be encouraged to experience this film. Hope my comments encourage more people to watch.

I don't know what movie the others saw, but I saw a deeply moving highly original movie. Some say it wasn't like the book, but it couldn't be like the book because it's a movie, and as such, it should be taken on its own merits as a movie. It was deeply original deeply moving with deeply heartfelt performances from everybody and that kid was brilliant. It wasn't the story of everybody's loss. It was a story of one particular kids loss and how he dealt with things and he wasn't a normal kid. He was a very bright kid well beyond his years ,and understanding ,who couldn't understand how somebody could fly right into a building and kill people they didn't know. It was brilliant when the kid finally broke down and started crying. I cried with him. It was hard to watch because it was about 911 but it was well worth it.

the pace of the movie for me is right and it does not bore me. this is a memory n remembrance n sad movie. this is not an action/suspense movie.

The acting here is outstanding. The pace is very slow and at times boring. It takes a bit of an effort to stay with all the many details. Overall it is a good movie.
