Baby’s Beantown mystery benefits from Ben Affleck proving he’s a decent director with a knack for nailing the local Boston color of Dennis Lehane’s book. Then it comes time to wrap things up and splat. Go to Full Review Christopher Orr The New Republic Sep 18, 2008

Director Ben Affleck displays sensitivity to his story's thematic undercurrents, but he hasn't yet developed the authorial voice needed to enliven the conventional plotting. Go to Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Apr 2, 2023

Robert P @Superbad Sep 9, 2026 Gone Baby Gone = a 4.5 star Movie See more Vaughn M @Chpow1010 Jul 21, 2026 This movie was quite good and had many great little details especially the one at the end Wich took me a second to understand. This requires you to pay extremely close attention but if you don’t you still might get it. See more Pongo K @RT48921889 Jun 20, 2026 You just have to se this movie. Simple as that. See more doug B @RT51901769 Jun 18, 2026 Fabulous film! Great acting!!! See more S. O @Col._Angus Jun 12, 2026 A powerful story, with the guts to not necessarily end happily. There are many twists and turns which can be hard to keep up with; I had to go back and watch a couple of scenes more than once. Also, I watched this without subtitles, so a fair amount of the dialogue was Baaaaaaaaston-brogue/undistinguishable. See more Zane T @ZaneThind Jun 10, 2026 An amazing look into the Boston class working neighbourhood with great performances all around. The direction and music is terrific as well. A great look at morals, ethics, and police corruption as well. Those final few minutes stick with you and make you really think. See more Read all reviews
