So completely lacking in his eye for revealing detail and his ear for colloquial speech that it feels less like a movie than an incomplete first draft of a well-meaning if unsophisticated essay. Go to Full Review S. James Snyder Time Out Aug 26, 2009

It's a familiar formula: Greedy suits touting high-rise schematics and targeting blue-collar citizens end up locking horns with a local firebrand. Guess who wins? Go to Full Review Ronnie Scheib Variety Aug 24, 2009
The potentially thought-provoking concept of historical reconciliation is ill served by a half-baked script that reduces every cliched plot point to jaw-dropping levels of preachiness. Go to Full Review Kam Williams Sly Fox Aug 27, 2009

May 13, 2012 A well intentioned movie with mild results. Good enough for the story and a good performance by Danny Glover. See more Apr 8, 2012 This movie was ok. Giancarlo Esposito has a great directorial debut. See more Jan 7, 2012 Okay to have on in the background, but not really exciting enough to want to sit and give it your undivided attention. I think I mainly rented this one as Julia Stiles was in it, Is a well acted movie, but never really rises above feeling like a made for tv film. See more Jun 11, 2011 One of those small carefully written scripts that are so rare to find. Basically a murder mystery with racial undertones this is worth seeing with a great understated performance by Glover and another by Bassett. See more Read all reviews
