William Forsythe is also great as Sammy the Bull. Gun to my head, I might pick Gotti (1996) as my personal favorite Mafia film. Do NOT watch the horrible Travolta version! Pick this one! 10/10 See more Brian R @BrianEdwards Aug 30, 2026 Armand Assante was perfectly cast here. An underrated mob movie. If you are a mafia or crime buff you will appreciate this. Much much better than the Travolta version. See more Jason R @JasonLovesMoviesForever Aug 6, 2026 The Greatest depiction of John Gotti ever filmed! Armand Assante did a fantastic job playing John Gotti! See more Alexander S @RT61935749 Oct 20, 2025 HBO's 1996 film Gotti is widely regarded as the most accurate portrayal of John Gotti's life and watching this film, it's clear that it perfectly captures his rise to power within the Gambino crime family and his dominance of New York City's underworld. Armand Assante's performance is spot on, bringing Gotti's presence to life. Although some scenes may drag due to slow-paced dialogue, the film feels like an authentic look into Gotti's life. Grading: B See more James B @Madstylesnz Aug 5, 2025 Another decent Mafia film, Hollywood sure can make them. Armand was perfect as the hot headed flashy Gotti. See more Read all reviews
