Best friends Josh (Derek Richardson) and Paxton (Jay Hernandez) decide to spend the summer after college graduation on an all-out backpacking trip across Europe. While stopping in Amsterdam to indulge their tastes for drugs and sex, they meet Oli (Eythor Gudjonsson), a like-minded traveler from Iceland. When the three bachelors set off to investigate enticing rumors of a Slovakian hostel in a city populated by lusty women, they find themselves drawn unwittingly into a deadly game.

It’s definitely exploitative. From the generous heaping of bare tits, to the sinkfuls of mangled limbs, it’s not purporting to be high art. However... it does take extra care into providing a framework for these exploitative elements to exist believably.

A very poor film, lacking serious dialogue and critical reflection. There is no depth or sense of transcendence whatsoever. The story is trivial, the characters are poorly written, the soundtrack is terrible, and the combination of gore and intimate scenes is absurd and clearly included merely to make the audience uncomfortable, without serving any meaningful narrative purpose. Not recommended at all.

This movie uses extreme gore as a cheap gimmick to scare people. The only thing that scares me about this movie is that there are people that walk around with this type of gore on their mind. It’s a cheap gross out film that has no redeeming qualities.

The movie has horrendously aged. And that is the scariest part of the whole thing. The character design for the lead roles is clearly a product of a very specific era in Hollywood filmmaking history, when chauvinistic immaturity was prominently featured as central figures in the story. It is such a shameful waste of a movie.

the movie was giving very much lackluster. the atmosphere of the film was indeed chilling, but it didn’t get much further than that. couldn’t connect with the characters, because they were consistently objectifying women, and that was practically the plot of the movie until there was a spin around at the middle of the movie. furthermore, it took too long to get to the point, and it wasn’t as chilling or apprehensive as i would’ve liked it to be. will not watch again.
