jonny M @RT59296713 6d This movie is just special. It is not War of the Roses - nor does it intend to be. From the set-up and the music it is just going to be different. Any bosses desk that has the prototype artificial balls on a pedestal is telling you they have this young man ( a young Tom -very appealing) by them. Meg - playing three very different roles - and introducing most of us to the expression - flibbertigibbet. Is truly darling. This movie is the epitome of the RomCom. Unreal scenario, strange events, timelines out of time. The had to purposely intersperse unbelievable seeds throughout just to poke fun at cinema itself. Casting Abe Vigoda as the Tobie (God is Good - aka Tobias) is priceless. Having the island be addicted to Orange Soda and Parasol's - total misdirect into silliness. As well as taking him to LAX but driving the coast of Big Sur. Pointless pandering for a nice cinematic shot. It may not be for everyone. But I like it ! Unfortunately seems like there is a ton of buildup for virtually zero payoff. Character interactions are weird, pacing is weird, our MC is weird. Dunno seems like too many cooks in da kitchen. I'm much older now and I've lived a lot of life. This movie truly hits different. Whenever I need an emotional release, JVtV is my goto. The dog scene is everything (nothing bad happens to the dog). Sadly, it was nothing like Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail. The story was nonsensical and the acting was mediocre. At least it was well shot.
