Adam A @AdamAlcott 2 days ago The rotten score here is leftover from when this was released and everyone missed the satire. This is an amazing comedy about early 2000s pop culture and the music industry. See more VITALII H @freakynickison May 7, 2026 It goes without saying that it’s not one of the best movies of all time. Disneyish teenage early 2k comedy with predictable and cringy plot and writing that doesn’t stand out by any means. But, as a person who just watched it for the very first time I will give this movie credit for bringing up something that’s still relevant or something that was ahead of it’s time back then. I talk about the subliminal messages and brainwashing through music that makes ppl to over consume stuff. That’s something that we need to get into a bit more in my opinion. Because one day they force us to buy stuff and the next day they tell us what to do. But this movie shows the comedy angle of it all and isn’t supposed to be taken seriously but they were cooking. Would I recommend watching? Not necessarily. See more Kalissa H. @kali_416 May 2, 2026 It’s camp. It’s not the best film, but it’s fine. See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom Apr 9, 2026 Josie and the Pussycats is a mediocre movie that has a fun idea but never fully lives up to it. The style is colorful, the soundtrack is catchy, and the cast clearly gives it energy, but the story feels uneven and often too silly to really land. Some of the jokes work, and the movie has a quirky charm, but overall it is more memorable for its concept than for its execution. I think it had potential to be something better, yet it stays stuck in the middle with a lot of missed opportunities. I would give it a 4/10. See more Anderson O @Platinum2027 Jan 6, 2026 Josie and the Pussycat dolls was on the nose for all of it’s viewpoints on the music industry and aspiring artist that want to make it for a big break. Soon it will be 25 years since this movie released but you’re not missing a lot, even for a chick flick. Aspects of it aged better than expected with product placement and how subliminal messaging/marketing and advertising works pre-social media. It truly is as the cast called it " a time capsule into the early 2000’s." See more Read all reviews
