Critics Consensus

Kidnap strays into poorly scripted exploitation too often to take advantage of its pulpy premise -- or the still-impressive talents of its committed star.

For an entire 84 minutes, I sat in the theater wondering why she decided to participate in this. I guess if for nothing else, it was good to see the actress doing something.

At just 81 minutes, it's a short shot of adrenaline, exhilarating yet predictable.

…an example of the predicament story, thriller sthat involves a single hard-drivin’ situation; Kidnap is a neat little B movie that fits into that highway horror genre alongside Duel, Night of the Jugger, Breakdown, Speed, The Getaway, Unhinged and more…

This premise is pure exploitation - or rather, it aspires to pure exploitation. Pure exploitation would be welcome in place of Kidnap, which is too vastly stupid to even exploit properly.

While the initial setup isn't bad, the film doesn't really know where to go from there.

I had this one on my watchlist for so long, and finally made it. I really liked it, you felt the anxiety of the character at moments

This was an absolutely amazing movie. The suspense of this movie kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time. The main character sheer will and determination was unmatched. I encourage everyone to see this movie because you will not regret it. Just Fantastic!❤❤❤

This one goes on the top 20 Dumbest Movies list. Absolutely cringeworthy. There are so many illogical bits and plot holes, I lost count. I suppose Halle Berry can actually act. I've never followed her. But she's an Oscar-winning big name, and apparently, she is no longer getting good roles. This would be a good movie for a drinking game with friends: Take a drink every time something stupid happens or there's another instance of inept filmmaking. Unfortunately, everybody will be passed out before it's half over. But that a good thing, because nobody will have to watch the rest of it.

I felt like the characters in this movie could feel the happiness and difficulties that they faced in real life.
