It doesn't go where you think it's going to go, but it's very well done.

It’s Coon’s charming performance of the eccentric victim-to-be that brings the film, written and directed by Jeffrey Reiner, into fuller focus as a crime comedy.

In a way, the film is almost a love letter to this beautifully vast, isolating, and underappreciated part of California.

Ultimately its success comes down to the interlaced playing of Coon and Whigham, two actors often in supporting roles proving they have what it takes as front-and-centre leads. A little gem.

Lake George never loses sight of how tragic and broken its protagonists are (infused with a painfully relatable loneliness), heading towards a fate that’s virtually predestined.

Great suspenseful thriller. Gotta admit I quickly got wrapped up in it. Twists and turns throughout

I’m a fan of Carrie (RT won’t let me use her last name in my review lol) but this role, nor the movie did much for me. It was slow, boring and just meh.

An insurance adjuster who get involved with a mobster and ends up going to prison for ten years comes out and is given an assignment from the mobster - kill the mobster's wife. The problem is that the now ex-con is "a good guy." The mobster's wife tells him that and he doesn't have it in him to kill her. Enjoyable, funny in spots, not bad overall.

Beautifully shot, tense movie with amazing performances by the lead actors. I happened upon this by chance and I’m so happy I did.

I don't know why this movie got such high critic scores. It wasn't terrible, just boring af. The scenery was more interesting than the story, that's for sure.
