Did the meta line he says to himself in the lobby feel a little too real? I thought so and it was strangely moving to me. John McTiernan’s family action comedy Last Action Hero (1993) is a proper satire on the action genre he helped create with Die Hard and Predator. McTiernan keeps the exploding cars and corny catch phrases coming for a never ending string of action tropes. It’s quite funny seeing a famous action director spoof his own movies. The amount of cameos in Last Action Hero alone is insane. Arnold Schwarzenegger is outstanding as the movie action hero Jack Slater as well as himself the actor. His sturdy charisma, quirky line delivery, and fun attitude make for a highly enjoyable lead role. McTiernan knows you’re just watching for Arnold. I appreciate that Schwarzenegger had a sense of humor over his action career and pictures as he’s basically playing a parody of himself the entire film. He genuinely kills it in Last Action Hero. See more Enrique R @NostalgicNerd Jan 20 Last Action Hero, one of my favorite action movies ever made. The story, the straight up entertainment. The action sequences was over the top. If you love watching nostalgic 80s and 90s movies. Definitely watch this. I love Arnold Schwarzenegger and he does great and acts like the Terminator. The cameos in this movie were unexpected. Like T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Sharon Stone from Basic Instinct. Overall, I give Last Action Hero a 9.5/10 or a 4/5 stars. See more Joy B. @9mr_0 Jan 16 فلم حلو لكنه يعاني من عدم الاتزان. الفكرة رائعة و السيناريو يقدّم لحظات ذكية إلا أنه يتردد في تطوير فكرته بشكل متماسك، ما يجعل الفيلم متذبذبًا في طرحه. الإخراج يبدأ بثقة ويقدّم مشاهد ممتعة، لكنه لاحقًا يفقد الإيقاع ويقع في التكرار، فتتفاوت وتيرة الأحداث بين الصعود والهبوط . أداء البطل كان جيد جدا الفلم يعتمد على حضوره .بينما بقية الشخصيات تظل محدودة التأثير ولا تمتلك عمقًا دراميًا . التصوير كان جيد الى حد ما و الكامرة كانت تستخدم بشكل جيد لكن في بعض الاحيان كان هناك تسارع بالتصوير ، والموسيقى حماسية وتنسجم مع الأجواء، لكنها في بعض اللحظات تكون أعلى من اللازم. الفلم كلما يتقدم يفقد شخصياته ضهرت الكثير من الشخصيات لكن تختفي فجاة . حصر الفلم بين شخصين فقط خلى الفلم ممل شوية .
