Critics Consensus

The Love Guru features far too many gross-out gags, and too few earned laughs, ranking as one of Mike Myers' poorest outings.

At one point Kingsley's character makes his pupils duel with mops soaked in his own urine. If you think that's funny, be my guest. Go to Full Review Larushka Ivan-Zadeh Metro Newspaper (UK) Aug 1, 2008

stephenpaul C @ash20261234567890 Sep 14, 2026 The worldwide gross is $40,900,000.00. See more Michael J @WelshJonesy Aug 13, 2026 I watched this when the film first came out but was just reminded of it by Ricky Gervais' Alley Cats because I couldn't help comparing my viewing experience of it to this for some reason. This was was once the worst thing I ever saw. Now it's the second. See more Austin C. @AustinC254 Apr 24, 2026 Honestly don't know why this movie gets so much hate. I guess you just need a weird and dry since of humor i don't know i think it's funny. Jokes hit here and there. See more Robo N. @robonoggin Mar 30, 2026 LITERALLY (and I mean that literally) the worst movie I’ve ever seen in my life. I tried so hard to be strong and finish it, but the torture was finally too much. I don’t even want to give it one star, honestly. See more shane o @Shanes_DVD_Shack Jan 12, 2026 Very bad movie . Not a single joke lands and the song are just annoying. This should have a lower score . It really makes you question his humour. See more Ronnie B @RT88010877 Aug 24, 2025 I watched this movie when it initially came out. I was in my mid twenties dating an ex and we watched this movie together, we were baked. Nevertheless, this movie has always made me laugh so hard my chest hurts. Maybe its the emotional tie too it, ooor my humor.... either way, this movie and Tropic Thunder, and Napoleon Dynamite and Harold / Kumar white castle will always have a spot in my happy place.
