Inspired by true events, Lucky Strike tells the story of one soldier trapped behind enemy lines during the last major German offensive during WWII, what will become known as The Battle of the Bulge. Armed only with his Motorola SCR-300 radio, a new technology only battle-ready near the end of the war, he must use his wits and spy craft to thwart the advancing Nazi Panzer army and find his way back home.

Critics Consensus

Presenting a straightforward tale of survival with solid suspense, Lucky Strike is a respectable tribute to wartime heroism that otherwise lacks the spark to stand out amid the crowded WWII genre.

As a simple exercise in suspense, it’s certainly effective, but there are clunky passages that prevent it from being top-tier entertainment.

It's a little bit generic or old-fashioned, like a small-scale war movies from the '50s or the '60s, but it's compelling.

Lucky Strike presents Lurie the war-film director in miniature, and there’s no shame in that. But what the film suggests is that he shouldn’t be shying away from the combat maximalist inside him.

The problem is Scott Eastwood. He does not have the acting skills or charisma to carry a film. His performance hurts this movie overall.

Lots of action, The story and details flowed well. The movie takes you back to the 1970s. Scarface but with little to no talking, just pure acting with body language and key cues. You have to pay attention details and how the story fits together because there is little dialog you can hear between actors. A unusual and very different kind of movie and once you get past they are not going to talk in the movie you start to get it and just accept it and enjoy how the actors express themself through rage, anger, love and hate.

Typical behind every lines movie. It used a lot of war movie cliches. But don’t worry it’s over so fast you won’t remember much after

This was a complete mess. I walked out after 30 min. Can’t explain the disappointment in the fact that I could have given my 30 bucks to charity
