This truly is slow simmering, twist and turn film making. I remember when I first watched as a young man looking to get into screen writing, this inspired me. And Baldwin and his 'God-complex' diatribe.......pure Hollywood gold. It's predictable in some places, hey, they even threw in a serial killer for atmosphere, but this is a wonderful film. It wasn't a terrible production but I didn't find myself drawn into it because of that. Dropped out halfway through. From reading other reviews it doesn't sound like it got any better. The plot twists are great and so are the performances. My guess is people find the set up implausible but I tend to overlook that because of the malevolence and evil that Kidman and Baldwin display is so chilling. Loved Bebe Neuwirth and Anne Bancroft's supporting roles See more Read all reviews
