Critics Consensus

It isn't exactly a persuasive argument for the continuation of the franchise, but Men in Black 3 is better than its predecessor and manages to exceed expectations.

Let's give Smith, Jones and Sonnefeld a pass for going back to the well one too many times. But if they go for a MIB4, the pity party is over.

While it's a little thrown together, "Men in Black 3" seems focused on recapturing not just the style but also the soul of the original.

The third film, while unnecessary in the grand scheme of things, still succeeds in being effective summer entertainment.

Although not entirely successful in terms of restoring interest in the franchise or justifying yet another sequel after this one, it’s a diverting experience and, at best, better than the 2002 sequel.

It’s not NEARLY as great as the first one, in my opinion, but it’s a MUCH bigger improvement over the second one. Agent Kay isn’t NEARLY as much of an oblivious doofus as he was in Men in Black II, and I loved seeing a younger version of him. I don’t know what they did to make him look younger, but it was really impressive. The villain.................is okay. 😂 Not nearly as threatening as the giant cockroach from the first movie, but he works, I guess. Overall, a much better sequel. Rating: 9/10.

The time-travel premise injects the energy the franchise needed, largely thanks to Josh Brolin's fantastic performance as the young Agent K. Although the pacing has its ups and downs, the film makes up for it with inspired jokes and a surprisingly emotional ending that wraps up the trilogy beautifully.

Men in Black 3 is a great addition to the series, with a more emotional story alongside the usual comedy and action. The time-travel storyline adds something different, while Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones remain excellent in their roles. Josh Brolin is also fantastic as a younger version of Agent K. It’s funny, exciting, and surprisingly heartfelt, making it one of the strongest films in the series

Nicole Scherzinger played such a sexy role, even if it was just for a short moment. But why on earth did they have to kill her off right at the beginning of the film? Lol! My theory is that she got sucked into space but was saved by another alien ship. You never know, haha!
