Huntin P @PaxVobiscum80 Sep 27, 2026 Moonwalker is, well, it's an experience. The question is not, what is it, but rather, who would think to do this? Answer, a musician whose fame and mystique made him practically a religious figure, a messiah for his own cult of self. But complaints about the egotism aside, what an extravaganza! The first part is a retrospective of MJ's career, lots of television appearances with his brothers; then outgrowing them, the famous Motown 25 performances; we get new music videos for Leave Me Alone, and Speed Demon, both of which deal with the pressures of superstardom in a humorous way. Finally, and most weird of all, the peculiar fable in which MJ and three kids face off against Joe Pesci and some totalitarian criminal syndicate something-or-other. That's where MJ does the Smooth Criminal performance, and also where he keeps transforming into things (a car, a spaceship), without any explanation as to how or why. In a word, bizarre. Even Ken Russell's music bio-pics are less peculiar.
