Critics Consensus

Miss Bala suggests Gina Rodriguez has a future as an action hero; unfortunately, it also demonstrates how hard it is to balance set pieces against a compelling story.

This film suffers from its Hollywood-ization... It's all so slick.

Miss Bala provides the first feasible argument for our southern neighbor to pay for building a wall: to keep Hollywood hacks out of the country.

This Hollywoodized remake is mostly generic and uninspired, but it also proves that Rodriguez has the makings of a true movie star.

“Miss Bala” lacks the edge you would expect from this type of movie, and its story plays out in the most implausible way.

The pieces are there for a thoughtful and thrilling crime drama, but they never come together to form a whole.

Why does Gina Rodriguez get all the praises when Ismael Cruz Córdova too was oozing charisma like damn those eyes boy 😍

This is a great movie! I'm now a Gina Rodriquez fan. She played her part so well, sexy, tough and believable. Ignore the bad reviews, this one is worth a watch.

Initially I thought this movie was probably going to suck, just by reading the synopsis and looking at the critics' reviews. From previous experience, I learned that the critics' reviews are often wildly out of touch with those of the general audience. So I thought I'd give this movie a watch anyway. I am glad that I did. Gina Rodriguez did a great job. Overall, I think the acting was good. The storyline and plot are not perfect, as there were multiple holes, but they are still ok. The action scenes are decent. Overall, this is a good and watchable movie. It was entertaining from the beginning till the end. Although the ending was a little bit out there and a tad unrealistic, I still liked the movie as a whole. Good job.

I mean..Its an exciting and fun movie. Mostly what builds it up is Gina rodriguez who kills any role she plays. The movie itself is somewhat unrealistic and dry, but id recommend it because I found it exciting. The ending is sort of unrealistic but also what makes it empowering and girlbossy.
