Monsters Vs. Aliens has plenty of lively animation and a handful of solid jokes. It is not of a caliber of most of the Pixar films, but, at times, it comes close.

Monsters vs. Aliens attempted to be a tribute to those classic sci-fi/horror movies, but it feels more like a mainstream mess than have any of that campy charm.

Whereas animation should have limitless potential, particularly with a concept like the one in Monsters vs. Aliens, this film squanders its prospects on mundane storytelling
