Between the thrilling action scenes, excellent chemistry between the actors, memorable soundtrack, and moments that allow us to empathise with the antagonists (!), "The Mummy Returns" turns out to be a pleasant surprise. [Full review in Spanish].

[Stephen] Sommers is a pure pop Stephen Spielberg but this chapter is less 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' than 'Gunga Din,' a pulp update of old Hollywood action movies.

You can never go wrong with watching the mummy or the mummy returns..definitely a great action/adventure movie. One of sequels that works and doesn’t miss a bit except with the minimal CGI. Fraser is always a treat to watch, Weisz is and always will be an absolute beauty..!! Made me feel like a kid again seeing it in theaters. Even got a poster!! Can’t wait for the 20th anniversary of the third one because I will be there just I was for these for their anniversaries!! Oh! I hate mummies..

I hate saying "They don't make movies like this anymore," but they kinda don't. These adventure films have been replaced by superhero movies, and back when those were good, I didn't mind it so much, but now that they're just slop being churned out by the Hollywood machine, I really miss these kinds of fun little romps. Okay, rant aside, this is a solid movie with a great cast. It's a true ensemble film where everyone is given badass moments, even the comic relief characters, and the entire thing feels like they might have lost, if even one of them had decided "nah, not going this time, have fun without me!" Oh, and its also great proof that one can write about a happy couple and not have it be boring on uninteresting. Rick and Evy are funnier as a couple than they were as a mismatched pair in the first movie.

This is late 90s/early 2000s action at its finest! I forgot how hysterical the CGI version of The Rock is in this movie. Brendan Fraser is the best!
