What to Know

Critics Consensus

Filmed in shrouded secrecy but illuminating in its overview of how policy can calculate the worth of a human life, Naza is a disquieting interrogation of what constitutes acceptable civilian casualties.

The simplicity of the format in "NAZA" – its visual restraint, Abraham's quiet probing – is the source of its art, forcing a viewer to "see" the violence these men describe. Go to Full Review

The framing of the film then becomes a journalistic and cinematic coup, challenging us to begin to confront how easily societies (including our own) become complicit in ongoing violence. Go to Full Review

I've watched NAZA twice now, both times in a state of quiet horror and fury -- and with enormous admiration for Abraham and Szor's courage in holding their government to account. My admiration extends to the unerring precision of their filmmaking. Go to Full Review

Steven A @RT92210066 3 hrs ago The imagery is obscured footage of the nightly lives of average citizens in Tel Aviv, juxtaposed with interviews of soldiers and operatives revealing atrocities on and dehumanization of "NAZA"--civilian casualties. I think that poses two questions for an Israeli audience: 1) "How can we ever live in real peace when our government is doing this?" and 2) "What the ___ are we doing?!" It's no wonder Netanyahu wants to strip the film's makers of their Israeli citizenship. It's an important film to see--if only to remind us of the inhumanity we are all capable of committing and justifying. See more Jennifer F @joelrahana 16 hrs ago This film.must be seen by all Americans, Israelis and people who support the state of Israel. It shows that the society and structure is systematically rotten, unequal and genocidal and no amount of hasbara can change this. I applaud the filmmakers and all who go to see this film. See more Kate G @RT52807686 17 hrs ago Naza gives raw commentary straight from individual former idf regarding their own role in the destruction of Gaza and its people. The final scene brings it all together and reminds us of our humanity. See more Aryeh B @AryBe 19 hrs ago Best thing I saw in a long time. Everyone on the planet should see the work of these brave people who endangered their lives to bring the truth to light. It's harder and harder when the history is rewritten all over the place, in the history books, online, in the AI models so everyone should watch this and then look into what happened there since 1900. This is not the first time brave jewish people talked against zionism. Just two examples from the early days: wiki/Jacob Israël de Haan wiki/Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld This documentary has everything this genre should bring to the world and after I saw it I understood why they broke the standing ovation record in Venice. I hope everyone that work on this will be safe because in the last decades we all saw what happens when you speak up against corruption, genocide, fascism/zionism. Support them, buy a ticket and see this ASAP. See more Eyal L @RT53960806 1 day ago I can't help but feel a documentary needs to be non-fiction. For me, the moment the story is fiction it looses a lot of it's appeal and though I can appreciate the skill in which it was made, I think the propaganda elements in this politically motivated fictional world distorts whatever cinematic value or offered.
