M J @RT21990381 Apr 25, 2026 The movie is incredibly boring. The camera is constantly shaking and filmed from weird, awkward angles. The color grading is so dull it feels like they never turned on the lights, even during daytime scenes. The two main characters are a mess. About 80% of the movie is just sex, fighting, and nudity. The male lead had an one night stand and meet his ex-wife when he was in a fight with hus girlfriend. The female lead is a complete mess—she sleeps with random guys whenever she has problems with her boyfriend, and when things go wrong with those hookups, she goes back to her boyfriend and suddenly claims she wants something serious after all that. See more Jan 30, 2022 Newness is a raw look at a couple of young people's sex lives in the digital age. I gave it 3.5 stars only because it can be emotionally draining (and make you contemplate your own past relationships in the wee hours of the morning), but the story itself is excellent. The acting is incredible, especially that of Laia Costa, whose character Gabi feels like a real, complicated person. Everyone was great, though, even the minor characters. See more Dec 16, 2021 It's so dull and predictable it almost hurts, it gives you an uneasy feeling. See more Dec 11, 2021 Young people getting more mature about what they want in a relationship. Nothing new here, and not particularly well acted either. Just decent. Has about the same feel as "Lie with Me" (2005), but with a dating app in the mix, less sexually explicit and less contemplative. Got predictable and boring about halfway through. Would not recommend. See more Read all reviews
