You can’t help but gasp at the full-tilt craziness on display, and connoisseurs will enjoy the hothead cab driver in the chase scene, played by a young Mandy Patinkin.

The real reason “Juggler” stands tall is that it doubles as a terse action film and a gripping look at the mean streets of New York in the ’80s. You can practically smell the streets. This is immersive filmmaking at its finest.

Hitherto a director of Disney features, Robert Butler dives into this lurid assignment with such zest that the film steamrolls right over its absurdities of plot and action.

The film filters the story of "High and Low" through exploitative propulsion, errantly romanticized and radicalized notions of urban pride, and that inimitable charge of truly insane location filmmaking in the tinderbox that once was New York City.

A compelling thriller that loses a step toward the end but remains weirdly watchable.

At times it feels like it is trying to saying something meaningful about power, poverty, and how those with the former tread all over the latter, but there is just too much absurdity to take it seriously in any meaningful way.

You get about five minutes of set up then this movie takes off full speed from there! Incredible and dangerous looking stunt work throughout the whole movie. You will be entertained for sure! Highly highly recommend!

This is a gritty but laughable, preposterous and ugly thriller with no entertainment value. Cliff Gorman gives a weak, overwrought performance, James Brolin is lost and the movie is unintentionally funny and really bad trash.

The whole film is just an extended chase scene. The first one is indeed an all-timer. Gritty, fast-paced, and a lot of fun. Truly criminal that this hasn't been released on DVD or Blu-Ray.
