Life is an adventure for a courageous youngster named Nim, who lives on an exotic island with her marine-biologist father and a menagerie of animal friends. When Nim's father goes missing, she turns to the only person she knows who can help her: adventurer Alex Rover. But what she doesn't know is that Alex Rover is really Alexandra, a timid recluse. Though faint of heart, Alexandra must find the courage within herself to come to Nim's aid.

I thought this was a silly kids movie by the cover but it was actually really good. I hate being on the beach but I want her lifestyle. But make the beach, a forest with like a pond/creek/stream. Perfect. Living in a tree houses with wifi/electricity and your friends are animals? YES A few things I didn’t like though was that, Alex Rover went half way across the world just fir the little girl to hate her, she never got to tell her dad that she scared a whole cruise ship of people off the island on her own, and Alex rover and the dad just ended up together..? Like. To leading plot to them getting together, nothing.

I may need to do a rewatch as an adult, but I remember loving this film so much as a young girl seeking adventure. I also learned the magic of Purell hand sanitizer through this movie haha

It was nice to see Jody Foster. I think it was trying to show that love can give the strength to overcome difficulties and everyone needs someone in a life, but the storyline wasn’t so great. Wanted to learn more about why the writer has such symptom.
