That’s the whole concept and Barker’s insight. If you want to make someone love you above all else... the only way to accomplish this is to dehumanize them, to strip away everything about them that made them someone you wanted to be with.

The moral is obviously "be careful what you wish for." But the film is so effective because the wish in question is a kind of cultural default—a story we tell ourselves about how love, and life, are supposed to go.

Wow. Just wow. This movie was not only original, but poignant. Men ain’t shit, and I feel for both Sara and Nikki. Bear & Ian are dochebags, and got what they deserved lowkey. Such an incredible movie, and Curry Barker has a knack for horror. Can’t wait to see Anything But Ghost and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

This is more of a disturbing kind of horror. I enjoyed watching the switches between Nikki, I thought it was a cool concept. I haven’t seen a horror movie that is related with wishes, so this was definitely a great watch for me. I almost pooped my pants though, THAT one scene where she was standing in the corner got me real good. Peak.
