Kevin F @fairbwnk 2 days ago Skillful cutaways to flashbacks & a unique plot makes this a worthwhile watch. Don’t know why there hasn’t been sequels 12 years later… See more Kris T @RT26407207 4 days ago You know how there are different groups of horrors? So this is fells in the topic of 2 people vs the evil. The movie is quiet ok, don't expect anything out of another planet. The jumpscares that you will see you had seen them before and you will see them after. The monsters... nothing new, pale skin shining eyes, eating glass, and in the end it is all in your head... still a good watch would not recommend to go to the cinema but an evening at home... why not? See more Alec H @alechbt 5 days ago Oculus has a clever approach to unreliable reality, and its initially confusing structure eventually pays off once the mirror’s ability to manipulate perception becomes clear. The past-and-present storytelling, Kaylie’s attempts to objectively document the supernatural activity, and the constant uncertainty over what is real create some genuinely effective tension. Annalise Basso is also excellent. Unfortunately, the ending completely lost me. After building so much empathy for the siblings, the tragedy felt more frustrating than earned. A strong concept and some great ideas ultimately undermined by a deeply unsatisfying conclusion. See more Alex A @RT48621216 6 days ago Wish they’d make a second one! That being said little about this movie makes any sense. And I don't mean that in a cool Lynchian kind of way. I mean it in the way that they have a mirror that can randomly change reality in any way so we never know at any time if we are watching something happen or something in their imagination. This in itself is lazy and uninteresting writing. What makes it even worse are the never ending flashbacks happening simultaneously as the hallucinations. The end result is a confused, disjointed and convoluted mess of a movie. The only redeeming quality is being able to look at the stunningly beautiful Karen Gillan for the whole movie. Really awful.
