This spare drama about the aftermath of war goes only so far on the strength of its sincerity, carefulness and good intentions. Go to Full Review Simon Kinnear Total Film Apr 10, 2012

The north-of-the-border setting promises fresh perspectives but local novelty can't disguise universal clichs, despite Dillahunt's memorably haunted star turn. Go to Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall Jun 30, 2011

With quiet intensity, this contained drama feels like a stage play with its intimate approach and limited cast and settings. It also has a strong thematic kick that's both emotional and political, without ever being preachy. Go to Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews Feb 6, 2011

Dec 16, 2013 'Oliver Sherman' starts out promising, with the hope that they decided to go more in to the thriller genre than drama.. but as you wait for the main character to unleash his wrath upon the family, you quickly realize that it's not going to happen. Truth be told, the film would have been more entertaining had they decided to go in that direction - because if you're looking for this type of drama, you're better off with movies like 'Jack knife' and 'The War at Home.' See more Aug 15, 2012 Bon film canadien, facon Harry un ami qui vous veut du bien. See more Mar 10, 2012 Interesting character study of the aftermath of the realities of war and head trauma, and how hard it is for some people to move on while others deal with their demons and find peace The main reason I watched this is because I am a fan of Donal Logue, and he does shine in this, but it does get a little slow in the middle, and is very uncomfortable in parts, but it is worth a watch if you are into these kind of movies.
