Jake Pentecost is a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity's victory against the monstrous Kaiju. I'm not sure even fans will find this industrial-strength head-banger entertaining. The best thing is that Pacific Rim: Uprising is under two hours though I have to warn you - it feels much longer.

Don’t get me wrong, if you’re here mainly to watch robots faceoff against monsters, you’ll likely leave fairly satisfied. Pacific Rim Uprising disappointingly settles for simply being passable.

Pacific Rim Uprising is a massive step down from the original. Where the first film captured that classic Mazinger Z era mecha charm and featured a phenomenal, commanding performance from Idris Elba, the sequel feels like just another generic modern sci-fi movie. The cinematography fails to convey the sheer scale of the Jaegers, making them feel less imposing, and the acting lacks the masterclass energy of the original. Sadly, it’s a disappointing follow-up.

Plot good, but lacks the vibe from the first film, AT LEAST DELAY IT SO GUILLERMO DEL TORO CAN DIRECT IT, AND YET I AM HERE, WATCHING TWO FRICKING PACIFIC RIM FILMS, OVER AND OVER, BUT MOSTLY THE FIRST ONE, EXPECTING A LITERAL CROSSOVER WITH THE MONSTERVERSE!!!!!!

Its one of those movies where you watch it and forget about it 1-2 days later, lacks the dark tone and raw that has the first one and gets these pretty basic and not really easy to get attached characters. Wrapping it all up, this movie it's like a really complicated recipe that ends up in a really dissapointing in flavor
