Despite this sturdy constriction, the film remains only mildly scary... But there is an undeniable astuteness and agility in the storytelling here on which Ross can build. Go to Full Review

Parasomnia is nowhere near perfect, but what it does well, it does very well. Go to Full Review

Between demons of folklore following you in your dreams and a shocking amount of orbital trauma, Parasomnia is a worthwhile horror that solidifies James Ross II’s promise as a genre filmmaker. Go to Full Review

There is nothing new here in Ross’ script, but his direction has surprising muscle. This is a lean, mean, and creepy horror programmer. Go to Full Review

Alec H @alechbt Oct 3, 2026 Not enough jump scares? A very well-constructed horror film that knows exactly what it’s doing. The mystery stays engaging, the supernatural elements are properly explained, and everything feels tightly connected from beginning to end. The ending was especially satisfying and gave the story the closure it deserved. It’s not necessarily a mind-blowing movie, which is the only reason I wouldn’t give it a perfect score, but it’s extremely solid, effective, and genuinely scary. See more Alex B @AlexBioni Sep 15, 2026 Night Terrors A group of friends stays the night together, and what starts as a good time turns into a nightmare. This chick has some wild found footage night terrors. The first one is crazy. The darkness, blinking red lights, and trauma made for an awesome scene. The night terrors continue and are effective. It uses jump scares and some crazy eye scenes. I really like the horror craft and visuals. About halfway through, the movie switches things up, and I wasn't expecting where it was going. I won't say what happens, but it surprised me. It feels amateurish at times, but if this is the director's first film, it's solid. My biggest issue is the editing near the end. The quick cuts hurt the storytelling, and the movie gets messy. It made things harder to follow and left me wanting more. I also wish they explained more about the entity. Overall, this was enjoyable with good performances, great effects, and impressive camera work. James Rose II is on my radar. See more Richard R @RT07674964 Sep 12, 2026 Jump scare movie definitely interesting, moves slowly, has some twists definitely not was expected but they buttoned it up to come full circle. not a bad indy film but not the best which is expected. They could expand it to another one with some creative writing but more anthology type rather than sequel. If you want something creepy worth a watch. See more nilufer E @Nilicim Sep 9, 2026 A few creepy and unsettling moments, but that's about it. The idea had potential, but the movie didn't really do much with it. I kept waiting for it to become interesting, and it never really did. See more B P @Bradster69 Sep 5, 2026 Not Bad, but Not My Favorite See more Read all reviews
