When a group of best friends get together during a lunar eclipse to share an intimate dinner in the tasteful house of Eva and Antonio, they suspect it's just another typical night until the hostess proposes a game. All guests must lay their cell phones on the table and read aloud all incoming messages and answer all incoming phone calls in front of the entire group. What begins as a provocative party game quickly becomes a wild ride.

Critics Consensus

Perfectos Desconocidos takes a delightfully uncomfortable look at the occasionally startling distance between our public and private selves.

It's light at first -- then it gets darkly funny, and then it gets just dark.

It's very entertaining in a middlebrow Broadway comedy kind of way.

It's a comedy that intends to be funny, and whose lack of spontaneity creates an antipathy feeling towards the story and the characters. [Full Review in Spanish]

a wild and entertaining ride into the darker side of technology and the ominous ways in which we are letting our cell phones not only control us, but to also define us.

This is a Mexican adaptation of the 2016 Italian film and it's fine. For being confined, the gimmick mostly works. It is odd only one call or text happens at a time, but if you can get over that it's funny, horrifying and probably more accurate than we'd ever care to admit. Final Score: 6.6/10
