Critics Consensus

A delightfully postmodern fairy tale, The Princess Bride is a deft, intelligent mix of swashbuckling, romance, and comedy that takes an age-old damsel-in-distress story and makes it fresh.

The Princess Bride is visually a very rich film. The camera shows us color as vivid as a child's imagination.

This movie is an absolute classic. As the grandfather says, it has romance, pirates adventure, Magic, revenge, and justice! Beautifully shot, the actors are great. The dialogue is witty – no reason not to love this movie.
