Critics Consensus

Hilary Swank is miscast as the romantic lead in this clichéd film about loss and love.

Snippets of sharp, witty dialogue are lost in a sea of sappy clichés and too-cute-for-words plot twists.

Swank does her best, but she seems lost in the movie's identity crisis, taking the project seriously one moment and doing a pratfall off a karaoke stage the next.

Butler is rarely as adorable as he is here, as the specter of a dead man guiding his wife to new love.

A beautiful romantic drama based on Cecelia Ahern's best-selling novel of the same name, with a very eclectic cast, including two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, as well as Gladiator, the eternal Phoebe, and even Negan is here. The plot is very exciting and engaging, and it also conveys a very nostalgic feeling.
